Dan Caspi (1945-2017) was the former chair of the Department of Communications Studies, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (2004-2009). Professor Caspi was the Founding Chair of the Israel Communication Association (ISCA) and filled several public roles, including Consultant for a communications program at Israeli Educational Television (1991-1993); Member of the Committee on Public Broadcasting of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sports; and Board Member of the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (2000-2003): Member of Academic Council, The Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem(2000): Member of Editorial and Advisory Board, Global Media Journal (2006): Academic committee member, Annual conference on  Science and Communication in Israel, Haifa.
